Animal Testing's History
Animal testing actually began way back, about around the 4th century BC. Aristotle was one of the first known to have performed experiments on live animals. Then, in the 2nd century a Roman physician named Galen dissected live pigs and goats. However Galen did not recognize blood circulations and thought other systems were separate. This view changed in the 17th century from William Harvey's ( below ) work.
Cosmetics were the first products to ever be tested on animals in 1933. In all started when a woman used " Lash Lure " eyeliner. Because it was not tested her eyes burned and she was later blinded. Then, eventually she died.
